Kate and I had such a creative time photographing at one of my favorite summer locations! We decided to get into the the river and photograph some gorgeous, summertime portraits. I love the mood and color tones, and this red dress really popped! This shoot was taken just around 4th of July and we still had some smoke bombs and sparklers! My favorite portion of this photoshoot might just be the sparklers. These images turned out so fun and just carefree! I hope you enjoy looking through these images just as much as I loved taking them!
Jesieka’s session was absolutely beautiful. We shot in the spring time in a gorgeous mustard flower field. Jesieka had the full experience with her photoshoot and got her make up done by the one and only Makeup By Anika! I highly recommend getting your makeup professionally done for your photoshoot. Having your makeup done makes you feel 10x more confident and excited to take photographs. Jesieka obviously shone through in these portraits and these flowers complimented her so well!
Check out her gorgeous photos!
My 4th of July photoshoot was just as you would imagine… a blast! The 4 of us had so much fun exploring the river walk and using some fun props. Planning this photoshoot was so great for me. Gathering up props and then meeting up with some awesome gals made this whole photoshoot such an amazing experience for all of us. We shot until dark and took some gorgeous photos. I can’t wait to do it again next year!
Check out these photographs we got!
Marissa and Jahmira had a conjoined senior session! Their session was so cute with a pastel color tone! We shot in the early morning and caught some beautiful soft lighting. These train tracks and the beach were just perfect for their photographs and their outfits really tied it all in! Love it!
Disclaimer: Do not shoot on train tracks. These are over grown and no longer in use!
During Soledad's photoshoot, we wanted to do soemthing completely different than the norm. We used shadows, depth of field and unique posing to create some pretty awesome images!
We adeventured around three different locations to get a nice contrasting styled gallery. I am absolutely in love with how these turned out!
Check out her session below!
IssaVPhotography had the pleasure of photographing wonderful families with Santa at St. Joseph's Hospital. It was a beautiful night and the tree was lit bright. To all those who attended:

Aliyah's session was simply gorgeous. We planned the shoot just in time for the August flowers to bloom. I absolutely love where we took these images and it was perfectly fitting for Aliyah's personality. She's full of color and overall naturally beautiful. We had so much fun playing in the water at the creek, while we tried not to get too wet, and then mosied around the garden capturing amazing images. I'm so happy with how her gallery turned out and that I was able to capture her senior year. I'm challenging you to make you session fit your personality!
One word that describes Madeline's senior gallery is: Unique. Her choice of locations, outfits, and fun guests brought out who she is in her senior photographs. When Madeline came to me and told me she wanted to do a session with her livestock, my answer was a obvious YES!! I had a great time getting to know her and all her crazy cute animals. Even though it ended up to be a cloudy day, her bubbly personality and will to do whatever I had in mind made her session one to remember. Madeline, her mom, and I had such a blast creating these wonderful images and I know that she will cherish them for years to come. I'm so glad she decided to tell her story in her senior pictures. So, my goal for you all is to make your session uniquely you!
Yay! Your photoshoot is right around the corner! You've already found your gorgeous location, your beautiful outfits, and your perfect photographer. Now, what else can you do to prepare?
Here's just a few tips and tricks that will help make sure everything goes smoothly for your grand photoshoot.:
Drink plenty of water the week, day, and night before. Drinking water will help give your skin that beautiful glowy look and prevent breakouts.
Practice Hair & Makeup
Just like any occasion or event, make sure you know the hair or makeup look will work for you before the session. If you are doing your own hair and makeup, make sure to practice it at least once. Avoid heavy or thick eyeliner, this can make your eyes look smaller and squinty.
Prep Your Clothes
The night before your session, hang up your outfits and look for wrinkles, hairs, and stains. If needed, iron, lint roll, or wash your clothes. Wrinkles, hairs, and stains will come out in camera, so by looking over your outfits, you can prevent this issue.
If you are deciding to wear a dress, shorts, or an outfit that shows your legs, make sure to shave your legs the night before the session, and not 30 minutes before. Shaving your legs the night before will make sure your skin won't be red for your session.
Get lots of sleep the night before and even the days before. This will help remove bags under the eyes, and give you extra energy to have a blast at your photoshoot.
Schedule Your Time
Make yourself ready at least 30 minutes before your session. This will help you relax and be in the best mood for your pictures. Start your hair and makeup early to make room for any mistakes.
Even though I will direct you every step of the way and make sure you look as beautiful as you are, it doesn't hurt to do some research. Watch YouTube video on posing tips and getting ready tips. Practice your smile and posing in the mirror. Know your good angles.
This is the most important tip of all. Be yourself. When you are yourself, you have the most fun. Having fun in your shoot is key to loving your images and making your experience so much better.
I cannot wait to create gorgeous artwork with you and have a blast at your session. Let's make this the best portrait experience you'll ever have.
